The history of the Kolaches and a new pastry

  Coconut Stix

This unique pastry has been brought back by popular demand.   Raised sweet dough with a hint of cinnamon is baked similar to our traditional cinnamon rolls with freshly toasted coconut shavings topped on our own sweet icing.

  Kolaches

Pronounced “kuh-lah-chee”, this sweet pastry originated in Czechoslovakia during the 1700’s and made its way into America through the state of Texas, where there are still many bakeries who custom make their own spin on the Kolache, or keep it very traditional.   Classic Czech fillings include prune, poppy seed, cheese or sausage.

Manderfield’s very own kolache boasts a tender sweet pastry made with buttermilk.  Our fillings include Apple, Raspberry, or Blueberry on one side, and our homemade cream cheese on the other, with a touch of icing and powdered sugar on top.  It makes a wonderful treat for breakfast or dessert.

Go Pack Go!

The Packers are having a record-breaking year, and we are (for the most part) all Packer fans.  We celebrate each game with decorated treats, cakes, and desserts, and hope you will enjoy the unique things we have in our stores.

Last year was a fantastic year, thinking about Super Bowl XLV and the last few home games which got us into the playoffs still gives me the chills.  We hope you, your family, friends, and co-workers, are as excited about the road to the Super Bowl this year as we are!

Most of these items are available in all of our bakeries, for specifics or to order something you don’t think we will have, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
